Technical fault causing halt of DU admission process

The online application process for admission to first year of Bachelor of Honours in Dhaka University (DU) for the academic session of 2020-21 has been stopped since 12:45pm Thursday due to technical fault.

The admission process will resume at 8:00pm on Sunday.

Convener of online admission committee of DU and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department Md Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter while talking to journalist.

He said, “Beginning  at 12:45pm today (Thursday), the closure of admission process will continue till 8:00pm Sunday. After that, online admission process will be available. The application period will be extended for closure of few days.”

“In the first 48 hours, over 1.5lakh applications were submitted for five units. So many applications have not been received earlier. As a result, the website is under huge pressure. Last year, the DU got 2.70lakh applications for five units. This year, the pass rate is high for which the number of applications may be 3.50lakh,”  Prof Mostafizur said.
