Guinness representative overwhelmed after see Bangabandhu’s crop field mosaic

The Guinness Book of World Record’s Bangladesh representatives were overwhelmed to see a portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman painted on a dark purple and green canvas with paddy in a crop land in Balenda area of Bogura’s Sherpur upazila.

Two representative of the organisation came to see the portrait of Bangabandhu in the crop field mosaic on Tuesday. The representatives’ are- former Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Prof. Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed and Bangladesh Agricultural University professor Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury.

Prof. Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed said all criteria of The Guinness World Records Authority have been fulfilled by the crop field mosaic using portrait of Bangabandhu titled ‘Shasyachitre Bangabandhu’.

“The image of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has emerged with the two varieties of paddy. The report will be sent to the authorities of Guinness World Records in London within the next three days. The results will be known in seven days,” he said.

Professor Dr. Kamal Uddin said The crop field mosaic, length of 400 metres and 300 metres width covering an area of 1,20,00 square metres or 1.292 million square feet, will be the world’s largest portrait on 100 bighas or over 20 acres of crop field canvas after China with an area of 855,786 square feet.
