Norwegian Ambassador Espen Rikter-Svendsen made a courtesy call on Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the latter’s office on Tuesday.
They discussed various aspects of Covid-19 and issues of common interests during the meeting.Bangladesh’s performance in addressing corona challenges, vaccinating and curbing violence against women and children were also discussed.

She informed Ambassador of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s prudent decisions to mitigate impact of the pandemic and grease economic sector.
Not a single person died of hunger in Bangladesh as the government distributed food and relief among poor and destitute, she said.

He also termed women and children repression prevention law in Bangladesh strong and effective.
