Sheikh Jamal received a big blow a few seconds before the final whistle as their Gambian forward Sulayman Sillah conceded a second yellow card in the match to be sent off.
In the day’s other match, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 2-0 at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.
Malian forward Souleymane Diabate and Burkina Faso defender Mounzir Coulidiati scored one each for the winners in the 35th and 61st minutes respectively.
Sheikh Jamal remained second with 23 points in the league while Rahamatgonj MFS climbed up to ninth with 10 points.
Mohammedan climbed up to 4th position with 19 points from while Muktijoddha SKC remained 11th with their previous nine points.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Football Federation on Monday fined MSC and Chittagong Abahoni Limited Tk 50,000 and 25,000 respectively for their officials’ using slang words during a BPL match.MSC team leader Abu Hasan Chowdhury Prince and Ctg Abahoni manager Arman Azin were suspended for three and one match respectively for the same incident.
