President Mohammad Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the eminent banker and former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled.
In a condolence message, the president prayed the salvation of the soul of Ibrahim Khaled and conveyed his deepest sympathy to his bereaved family.The President said, "The people of this country will forever remember the talent and skill that Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled has left for the smooth development of the banking sector of Bangladesh."
In a separate condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled's contribution to the development of the country's banking sector will be remembered.
She also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to his bereaved family members.
Noted banker Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled passed away at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday morning at the age of 80.
