15 injured in clash between activists of two councillor candidates in Bhairab

At least 15 people were injured in a clash between activists of two councillor candidates of Bhairab of Kishoreganj, according to media report.

Police fired 10-15 rounds of blank shots to bring the situation under control.  

The incident took place in Jagannathpur area of ward number five of the municipality on Sunday noon.

Md Shahin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhairab Police Station, said the clash took place between activists of councillor candidates Ashraf Ali and Fazlur Rahman.

Some 12-15 people were injured in the clash. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Police fired blank shots to calm the tension. Currently, the situation is under control, the OC said.
