David Miller hit a fighting 85 not out to help South Africa recover from 48-6 to 164-8 in the third and final Twenty20 International against Pakistan in Lahore on Sunday.
Debutant Zahid Mahmood (3-40), Mohammad Nawaz (2-13) and Hasan Ali (2-29) had jolted South Africa, put in to bat by Pakistan.
Miller's 45-ball knock was punched with seven sixes and five boundaries.
The series is level at 1-1 after Pakistan won the first match by three runs, while South Africa took the second by six wickets, both in Lahore.
