Dhaka University (DU) has decided to punish nine students over question leakage and admission test fraud of the university.
Of them, seven have been recommended for life and two have been recommended for temporary expulsion from the university.The recommendation came from a Disciplinary Board meeting of the university with DU Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair on Thursday.
The expulsions will be carried out after approval by the Syndicate Committee, confirmed DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani.
Besides, three teachers of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research of the university were also recommended to be punished for giving inconsistent marks in the internal examination papers.
In addition, 147 students of university and its affiliated colleges were recommended to be punished in different terms for cheating in the internal exams.
Earlier on June 23, 2019, the CID filed a charge sheet against 125 people, including 87 students of the university for question leakage and fraud in the DU admission test where 76 of them were expelled so far.
