People above 40 years and the family members of those who got vaccinated will be allowed to take the jabs.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque verbally ordered the authorities concerned to take steps in this regard, said Maidul Islam Prodhan, senior information officer of the health ministry.

Earlier, the government's plan was to inoculate frontline workers and people aged over 55 on priority basis.

Health Minister Dr Zahid Maleque virtually inaugurated the vaccination drive on Sunday morning.
