Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was taken to hospital for a scan on Friday as his old groin injury seemed to be resurfaced.
Shakib walked off from the ground after bowling six overs on day two of the opening Test between Bangladesh and West Indies on Thursday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The 33-year old suffered a blow in his groin after Tea session on day two when he tried to stop a ball with his leg after West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite pushed it towards mid-on for a single.
Shakib continued playing after that but left the field after the 17th over of the innings. He however didn’t come to bowl at least in the morning session.
Shakib suffered a groin injury during Bangladesh’s third and final ODI against the West Indies on January 25. He was kept under observation for 48 hours after that and only joined the Bangladesh squad for training after recovering from the injury. Yasir Ali was fielding currently in his place.
