President M Abdul Hamid gave his assent to the bill for setting up Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna, passed in the Jatiya Sangsad during the maiden session of 2021.

A statement of the Parliament Secretariat said the bill, passed in parliament on Monday, has now turned into a law.

Sheikh Hasina Medical University, Khulna Bill was passed to set up a medical university in Khulna division, aiming to expand the facilities for medical education, research and healthcare services in the region.
