Wild elephants kill 2 teenagers in Bandarban

Two teenage boys died as a herd of wild elephants trampled them in Reoaroara area at Chaikhang union under Alikadam ulazila of Bandarban early hours of Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Masur Alam, 17 and Humayun Kabir, 14, both of them hailing from the area.

According to locals, a herd of elephants entered the area and vandalised crop lands and several houses on Saturday night. At one stage, an elephant attacked them when they were walking at the area, leaving one of them dead on the spot.

Later, the injured died on the way to hospital.

Rakib Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Alikadam police station, confirmed the matter.
