Auto-rickshaw snatched after killing its driver in Ashulia

Unidentified miscreants snatched an auto-rickshaw after killing its driver in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mofazzal Hossain, son of Mojaffar Hossain, hailing from Aranagar village in Dhamoirhat upazila of Naogaon.
Quoting Osman Gani, a relative of the deceased, sub-inspector of Ashulia police station Jasim Uddin said that Mofazzal left his house with his rickshaw at around 4:30 am. Later, locals spotted Mofazzal’s body in an abandoned field on the side of a regional road in the Kaichabari area of Ashulia and informed police.
Upon receiving the news, police went the spot and recovered the body from the spot at 8:00 am, he said.
Police initially suspected that Mofazzal was murdered for snatching his auto-rickshaw, he said adding that the body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
