Renowned actor of the country Abdul Kader, also very much popular as ‘Badi’, was laid to rest at Banani Graveyard in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, the body of the actor was taken at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) premises and people from all strata of life paid homage to him there.
The namaj-e-janaza of Kader was held at a mosque close to his residence at Mirpur in Dhaka after Johr prayer.
He breathed his last at around 8:20am today while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Abdul Kader, who had been suffering from IV cancer, was diagnosed with coronavirus on December 21.
He was taken to Chennai of India for better treatment on December 8. Later on December 15, he was diagnosed with cancer.
According to physicians, he was not fit for chemotherapy. As a result, he was taken back to country from India’s Christian Medical College Hospital at Vellore of Chennai on December 20 and was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
