Missing minor’s body found in Gazipur

Police recovered the body of a minor boy from Dargarchala area of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur on Monday night, a few hours after he went missing.

The deceased was identified as Sifat Ahmed, 4, son of Abu Bakkar Siddique, hailing from Dimla upazila of Nilphamari.

Police have arrested a child named Abdullah, 10, son of Amir Quazi, hailing from Syedpur area in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna, for interrogation in this connection.

Sreepur Police Station Inspector (Operations) Golam Sarwar said that Sifat and Abdullah were living with their families at Abdus Salam's house in Kewa Paschimkhanda area of Sreepur Upazila. On Monday afternoon, Abdullah and Sifat went out of their house to play but Sifat did not return home in the evening. Later, Sifat’s family members filed a general diary with Sreepur Police Station after much search. At one stage, around 8:30 pm, the locals saw the body of a child lying at Dargarchala area and informed police.

Upon receiving the infromation, the police went to the spot and recovered the body around 10 pm, he said.
