Kumilla secure first win in women league

The lowly Kumilla United beat Spartan MK Gallactico Sylhet by 1-0 goal to secure their first win in the ongoing Tricotex 3rd Women’s Football League (WFL) at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital on Thursday.

Forward Thuiyenu scored the lone goal of the match in the 22nd minute. With the day’s feat, Kumilla United secured 4 points from 11 matches with one win and one draw while Gallactico Sylhet remained at the same position with their previous credit of 4 points from equal 11 matches with one win and one draw.

Both teams will play one match each on December 13. According to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) bylaws, two bottom-placed teams will play a play-off to decide their places if they get tied up.

Meanwhile, Kumilla United played a 2-2 goal draw with Spartan MK Gallactico Sylhet in the first-leg match at the same venue on November 8.
