Magura clinched the title of JFA U-14 National Women’s Football Championship 2020 beating Rangpur by 3-1 goals in the final at Muktijoddha Smrity District Football Stadium in Rajshahi on Monday.
Captain Nobiron Khatun scored two in the 20th, 48th minutes respectively and Arpita Biswash one in the 64th minute for Magura while captain Khadija netted the lone goal for Rangpur in the 14th minute.Nobiron was adjudged the Player of the final while her teammate Suborna Khatun Player of the Tournament and Arpita was the highest goal-scorer netting 9 goals. Reshmi Akter of Rangpur was named as Most Promising Player, Rajshahi Fair Play team and Naogaon the Best Zonal Venue.
Rajshahi City Corporation mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil was present there as the special guest. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) vice-president Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Manik, General Secretary Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, BFF Women’s Wing Chief Mahfuza Akter Kiron and other members were also present there.
The competition, which is funded by Japan Football Association and sponsored by Walton, is a talent program of BFF. This year, the primary round kicked-off on October 3 at seven regional venues with the participation of 49 districts while the final round began on Nov 27 with the participation of seven zonal champions and two best runners-up teams.
