A man aged to be 50 was killed under the wheels of a train at Banani railway station in the capital on Tuesday morning.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The man died on the spot when he was hit by a train leaving Dhaka-Kamalapur railway station, said Md Mohiudin, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Airport Railway Station Police Outpost.

The body will be sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for an autopsy, he said.
