Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University (BSFMSTU) celebrated its 3rd founding anniversary and the University Day on Saturday amid colourful arrangements and enthusiasm.
Mirza Azam MP, also syndicate member of BSFMSTU and Prof. Dr Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, the vice-chancellor of the university, inaugurated the anniversary programme at 9:00am hoisting the national and university flags in front of administrative building on the campus.Later, they also paid tribute to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib by placing wreaths at the murals on Bangabandhu Chattar on the campus.
The authorities celebrated the occasion in a limited scale due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.
Vice-chancellor urged the university teachers, students and officials to work together for enhancing education quality and sought assistance of all quarters to upgrade the university to a world-class educational institution.
Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University vice-chancellor professor Dr A H M Mostafizur Rahman, Jagannath University Teacher Prof Dr Abul Hossain, Prof Dr SK Bhattacharjee, Dean of BSFMSTU Science faculty, exam controller Dr Anwar Hossain, Registrar Khandakar Hamidur Rahman, among others, addressed the programme.
Later, the BSFMSTU vice-chancellor along with guests and his colleagues cut a cake at to mark the 3rd founding anniversary of the university.
BSFMSTU started its journey in 2018 with 4 departments and 120 students. It is established by the `Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University (BSFMSTU) act 2017’.
