The High Court (HC) on Wednesday postponed municipal election in Faridpur for six months.
The election was supposed to be held on December 10 as per the declared schedule.
The virtual HC bench of Justice Majibur Rahman Mia and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by a local voter on the validity of election schedule.Advocate Ruhul Quddus appeared for the writ petitioner while Attorney General AM Amin Uddin and Deputy Attorney General Nowroz Mohammad Russell Chowdhury took part in the hearing on behalf of the state.
