Myanmar has returned nine Bangladeshi fishermen who were arrested by its Border Guard Police (BGP) from Naf River in Teknaf.

Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) took the fishermen under disposal after a flag meeting Wednesday afternoon, said Lt Col Md Faisal Hasan Khan, commander of BGB Battalion-2.

BGB took unrest move leading to flag meeting to bring the fishermen back, said Col Md Faisal.

He said returnees have been subjected to the institutional quarantine as part of Covid-19 avoiding measures.

Border Guard Police of Myanmar arrested fishermen and took them to boat from the Naf River in Teknaf on November 10.
