Six workers receive burn injuries in separate fire incidents in Gazipur, Narayanganj

Six day-labourers received burn injuries in separate fire incidents in Gazipur and Narayanganj on Wednesday morning.

Three workers of Titas Gas were burnt while repairing gas line at Tongi in Gazipur, and other three workers of Rahim Steel Mills were burnt as melted iron fell on them at Kanchpur in Narayanganj.

The injured were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).

The three burnt victims of Titas Gas were identified as Sujon, 28, Selim, 25 and Kalam 25, and another three victims of Kanchpur Rahim Steel Mills are identified as Mohir Uddin, 40, Faridul Islam, 30 and AbulKalam, 33.

Mohir sustained 48 per cent burn injuries while Kalam received 38 per cent, and Faridul received minor injuries on his legs and hands.

Bacchu Mia, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gazipur police station, confirmed the matter.
