Women’s Football League: Kings punish Gallactico

The star-studded Bashundhara Kings punished lowly Spartan MK Gallactico Sylhet FC by 12-1 goals in their eighth match of Tricotex 3rd Women’s Football League (WFL) at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium on Tuesday.

In the day’s goal fest, forward Krishna Rani Sarker completed her hat-trick scoring four goals in the 39th, 52nd,78th and 81st minutes while captain-cum-forward Sabina clinched her hat-trick scoring three goals in the 11th, 21st and 42nd minutes.

Among others, midfielder Mishrat Jahan Moushumi scored twice in 5th and 19th minutes while forward Tohura Khatun, defender Sheuli Azim and forward Maria Manda contributed one goal each in the 45th, 66th and 74th minutes.

Substitute forward Kantu Moni Begum netted the consolation goal for Gallactico Sylhet FC in the 85th minute.

With the day’s feat, Bashundhara Kings consolidated their top slot securing 24 points with the all-win record in eight matches while Spartan MK Gallactico remained at the bottom place with their previous credit of one point.

In the day’s other match, Nasrin Sports Academy beat Begum Anwara Sporting Club by 3-1 goals at the same venue. Midfielder Ritu Porna Chakma and forwards Anuching Mogini and Sohagi Kisku scored one goal each for Nasrin SA in the 33rd, 38th and 90th minutes while substitute forward Shibalika Talukdar scored the lone goal for Begum Anwara in the 77th minute.

With this win, Nasrin SA remained at the second spot earning 21 points with seven wins and one defeat while Begum Anwara remained fifth with their previous credit of 6 points.
