Trade through Bhomra land port resumes

Trade between Bangladesh and India resumed through Bhomra land port of Satkhira on Sunday.

Import and export operations through the port were suspended on the occasion of Shyama Puja, also called Deepabali or Diwali.

Mostafizur Rahman Nasim, general secretary of Bhomra land port’s C&F agents' association, confirmed the matter.

He said, Ghojadanga C&F Employees (Cargo) Welfare Association of India halted export and import activities of all types of goods on Saturday (November 14) on the occasion of Shyama Puja.

Biswajit Sarker, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Bhomra Land Port immigration police said, “Immigration office is open for passport holders alongside the resumption of import and export activities.”
