Popular actor Ziaul Faruque Apurba has been taken to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in the capital with coronavirus infection on Wednesday.

Producer Mizanur Rahman Ariyan confirmed the news to media.

The actor came out positive for the virus on Monday after showing corona symtoms, including high fever, he added.

Apurba was admitted to the hospital in Dhaka as his condition deteriorated on Tuesday, he added.

The family members of the actor requested the countrymen to pray for his quick recovery, Ariyan said.

It is learned that Apurba took part in shooting of a latest drama of Sagar Jahan last week.
