Some internet users in Bangladesh, who are using internet under the Indian submarine cable, may experience slow speeds from Friday as India will begin repairing work of the cable on the day.

The disruption may be continued for four days from October 30 to November 2 as they will change and repair i2i cable network during the time.

Mashiur Rahman, Managing Director of Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL), said there has no problems with two submarine cables of Bangladesh. But, International Terrestrial Cable (ITC) operators, who are bringing bandwidth from India, can face problem due to the repair work.

“The demand of internet bandwidth of our country is now 2000 Gbps (gigabytes per second). Of the total demand, 1, 275 Gbps is being used from our country. The rest of the internet bandwidth is being brought from India by ITC operators,” he said.
