School students' learning outcomes  to be assessed from Nov 1

 

Education officials will start evaluating academic progress of secondary school students on November 1 as there is a government decision to cancel this year’s annual exams  amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Students from Class VI to Class X are being promoted without appearing in exams but they will have to do weekly assignments as per the abridged syllabus. In this way, their learning outcomes will be assessed.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, in a notice issued on Oct 25, set out seven directives regarding the assessment of the assignments.

The authorities halted in-person classes in schools and educational institutions across the country following the outbreak of the Covid-19 in the country.
