Wood trader’s body recovered from Bhairab River in Jashore

Police recovered a throat-slit body of a wood trader from the Bhairab River near Churamankati union of Jashore Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Golam Mostafa, a wood trader and a resident from Bagdanga village under Basurai union of Bagherpara upazila in Jashore.

Deceased’s wife Salma informed that Mostafa left the house on Saturday evening saying that he went to collect his own money Tk two lakh from a businessman, which he gave as loan. But he has been missing since then and his mobile phone is also switched off.

Locals informed the police after finding his body in Bhairab River beside his house on Sunday morning.

Later, the Shajiali Outpost police recovered the body from the scene.

Kamruzzaman, in-charge of Shajiali Police Outpost, said police are investigating into the death.
