The Supreme Court has prohibited for two weeks legal practice of senior advocate Md Eunus Ali Akond for making derogatory comment on the highest seat of judiciary.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Sunday.The court’s attention was drawn to the statement by Additional Attorney General Murad Reza.
The court suspended advocacy enrollment of Eunus Ali Akond for the period under review and advised him to refrain from holding practice before any court.
The apex court also directed Eunus to appear before it at 9:30am on October 11 to clarify his facebook post.
The court ordered the Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to immediately remove the derogatory posts of Eunus Ali Akond from Facebook and to block him on social site.
