The government has elevated 98 joint secretaries to the post of additional secretaries.

The public administration ministry issued an office order on Saturday on the promotion and making the promoted officials as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) following tradition.

The number of permanent posts for additional secretaries is 121, according to public administration ministry officials.

Following Saturday’s promotions, the number of additional secretaries has hiked to 611.
