Jamuna flows over danger level in Bogura

The water-level in Jamuna River has risen by at least 27 centimeter in the last 24 hours making it 3-cm above the danger mark at Mathurapara point in Bogura's Sariakandi upazila on Friday due to heavy rain and onrush upstream water.

Several areas of Sariakandi in Bogura district have been flooded by the rising Jamuna River.

Meanwhile, croplands, homesteads, establishments of  Chaluabari, Kazla, Bohail, Hatsherpur, Kutubpur of Sariakandi villages went under water.

On the other hand, the water level of the Bangali River is currently flowing 5.3cm below the danger level, but is expected to rise in the coming days, Md Humayan Kabir, assistant engineer of Bogura Water Development Board said.
