The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital has launched a 40-bed state-of-the-art air-conditioned mortuary at the hospital proper management of dead bodies.
The hospital authority said this modern and large mortuary will add a new dimension to the country's healthcare as 40 bodies can be kept at a time at the mortuary.The dead bodies can be preserved the dead bodies in the mortuary under safe, dignified and proper management and the relatives of the dead bodies can take time for funeral.
The new mortuary has been set up in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with emphasis on dignified and proper management of dead bodies, the hospital said.
Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder, MP, Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society inaugurated the mortuary at a function at Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital in the morning on Thursday.
Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and Member of the Governing Board of IFRC Prof. Dr. Md. Habibe Millat, MP, Treasurer of the Society Lutfur Rahman Chowdhury Helal, Pablo Percelsi, Head of Delegation at ICRC Bangladesh and The Protection Coordinator were among others present there.
