Coronavirus: Global death toll climbs to 975,472

A total of 975,472 people died from coronavirus worldwide  at 11:30am till Wednesday (05:30 GMT), according to latest data from worldometer.

While 31,783,958 people have contacted with coronavirus, 23,400,905 are considered recovered in the 213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in China last December.

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 7,407,581.

With the fresh tally in the 24-hour, 6,171 people died from coronavirus while 298,181 people have tested positive for COVID-19, and 287,179 patients have made fully recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 205,471  deaths, followed by Brazil with 138,159; India  90,021; Mexico 74,348; UK 41,825, Italy 35,738; France 31,416; Iran 24,656; Russia 19,649; Indonesia 9,837; Canada 9,234; Bangladesh 5,007, Saudi Arabia 4,542 and Australia 859 respectively, worldometer reported.
