PM refuses to hold HSC exams right now

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the government is not in a position to hold the Higher Secondary School (HSC) examinations right now as the country is likely to face second wave of coronavirus.

The premier expressed the opinion at a meeting of Awami League Local Government Public Representative Nomination Board held at her official residence Ganabhaban in the capital on Monday.

Sheikh Hasina said that she will give her decision about the examinations when the corona situation becomes normal.

Questioning the justification of delay in exams, agriculture minister Abdur Razzak proposed to hold HSC examinations immediately as normalcy returns to every sector.

PM heavily came down upon him making a counter question as to why the government should be in a hurry to hold the examinations. Many countries are going through a second wave and Bangladesh may not be an exception.

The government will not only put exams on hold but also physical classes, she said.

"Wait for the country to subjugate Covid 19. I will pick you up on time," Sheikh Hasina said.
