Coronavirus: Global death toll climbs to 950,557


The global coronavirus death toll climbed to 950,557 at 11:30 am till Friday (05:30 GMT), according to latest data from worldometer.

So far 30,351,723 people were diagnosed with coronavirus while 22,041,437 are considered recovered in the 213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in China last December.

Besides, the number of active cases are 7,359,729.

With the fresh tally in the 24-hour, 5,458 people died from coronavirus while 313,089 people have tested for coronavirus, and 234,724 patients have made fully recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 202,213 deaths, followed by Brazil with

135,031; India 84,404; Mexico 72,179; UK 41,705, Italy 35,658; France 31,095; Iran 23,808; Russia 19,061; Germany 9,457; Indonesia 9,222; Pakistan 6,408; Iraq 8,332; Bangladesh 4,859; Saudi Arabia 4,399 and UAE 402 respectively, worldometer reported.
