The Government is contemplating to introduce information and communication technology (ICT) cadre in public services to strengthen professional expertise in public administration.
Addressing at a virtual meeting, ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak mentioned that there is no alternative of skilled workforces in technology to cope with challenges of fourth industrial revolution.Government ICT Officers Forum organised the webinar titled ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digital Bangladesh’ recently. State Minister Palak informed that introduction of ICT cadre in public services on process as ICT Division has forwarded recommendation to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on this regard.
“We hope that ICT cadre will be introduced ‘very soon’, he added. Awami League central committee Science and Technology Affairs Secretary engineer Abdus Sabur claimed Bangladesh will lead in the fourth industrial revolution as country maintained ‘sustainability’ in business, health and agriculture amid pandemic. ICT Division Senior Secretary Zeaul Alam said the administrative infrastructure is important for digital service delivery and the government is working to create the cadre to speed up the progress of Digital Bangladesh.
