Chinese embassy awards 22 artists for COVID awareness posters

Chinese embassy in Dhaka has awarded 22 amateur and professional artists for designing posters over various features related to COVID-19 pandemic.

The awardees were the winner of competition titled “2020 Bangladesh-China Poster Design Competition for Fighting COVID-19” organised by the Chinese mission .

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming handed over the awards at a ceremony in the capital yesterday, a Chinese embassy press release said.

Over 650 works were collected from designers and art lovers from China, Bangladesh, India, the United States and Australia for the contest began on April 21.

The online voting website was launched in July and 10 works were selected for the “Internet Popularity Award”.

On August 11, 60 works – 25 amateur and 35 professional – were selected by the panel of experts according to the criteria of theme and artistry while 22 outstanding works were finally awarded.

Chinese embassy’s cultural counselor Sun Yan, Bangladesh-China Friendship Centre Chairman Delwar Hossain and Bangladesh Language Department of China Media Group director Yu Guangyue were also present on the occasion.
