Rezwanul Bari Shamim, assistant professor of Orthopedic Surgery in Sirajganj Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College, died from coronavirus infections on Sunday noon. He was 49.

He breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) while undergoing treatment around 1:45, family sources said.

Dr Rezwanul Bari was tested positive for the virus at the PCR lab of Sirajganj Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College on July 20.

Shamim, son of retired professor Abbas Ali Mia, from Sultanganjpara in Bogura, let behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of well wishers to mourn his death.
