Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) Director General Md Fashiullah tested Covid-19 positive on Friday.

“The Director General on August 5 gave sample for testing covid-19 and he got result positive on Friday,” said Md Habibur Rahman, personal secretary to Fashiullah.

He also said DG Fashiullah was in isolation at home due to fever before Eid-ul-Azha.

A total of 658 officials and staffs, primary school teachers and students under the DPE detected covid-19 positive till August 6. Of them, 16 died due to the coronavirus.

Among the detected, 84 are officials, 48 staffs and 504 are teachers of different primary schools across the country.
