Global coronavirus death toll climbs to 717,687

A total of 717,687 people died from coronavirus worldwide in the  213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in Wuhan of China last December, according to latest data from worldometer.

So far, 19,257,726 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus  till Friday (Bangladesh Time 10:30 am). Of them, 12,357,662 patients have been considered recovered, the source said.

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 6,182,377.

With the new tally in the 24-hour, 6,467 patients died from coronavirus while 281,386 coronavirus cases have been diagnosed, and 192,052 patients have been considered recovered.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 162,804 deaths, followed by Brazil with 98,644, Mexico 50,517, UK 46,413, India 41,638, Italy 35,187, France 30,312, Spain 28,500, Iran 17,976, Russia 14,606, Canada 8,966, Pakistan 6,035, Indonesia 5,521, Saudi Arab 3,055, Oman 492 and Australia 266 respectively, worldometer reported.
