Signal no. 3 for maritime ports

The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three as squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

“A low pressure area has formed over north bay and adjoining areas. Under its influence and strong monsoon over north bay, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh,” a met office bulletin said on Tuesday.

In this perspective, maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
