Eminent litterateur and journalist Nimai Bhattacharya has passed away. He was 89.
According to media report, he breathed his last on Thursday morning at his residence at Tollygunge of Kolkata (India).
He had begun his career in journalism. A novel written by him was published in Amritobazar Patrika in 1963.He wrote more than 150 books. But his most notable work is ‘Memsaheb’. A film was produced based on the book named ‘Memsaheb’ where Uttam Kumar and Aparna Sen played key roles respectively.
It may be mentioed that Nimai Bhattacharya was born on April 10, 1931 in Magura's Shalikha of Bangladesh.
