Government to announce holiday for red zones

The government is going to issue new instruction from June 16 declaring general holiday in red zone areas in order to check the spread of coronavirus, according to media report.

Earlier, the government instructed to open offices from May 31 to June 15 on a limited scale following health guidelines after long general holidays till May 30. The government also directed to introduce public transports from May 31.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the same situation will prevail as was from May 31 to June 15.

Farhad Hossain said, “We have divided areas into red, yellow and green zones based on the level of coronavirus infection. Declaring mostly affected areas as red zone, the gazette notification of holiday will be issued for the government, semi-government, autonomous and private organizations.”     

The state minister said notification will be issued in this regard from the public administration ministry and cabinet division today. 

He said there will be general holiday in red zones so that people do not go outside. The public administration ministry will instruct regarding government, semi-government and autonomous organizations.  

The state minister said, “We will go for specific area-wise lockdown. The lockdown will continue for 14 to 21 days. Food will be supplied there. Committee will work there for the services of other patients and there will be helpline. In addition, there are arrangements for mobile app and mobile tracing for getting information of corona.”
