The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has informed that the dead body infected with coronavirus can be buried after wrapping it with plastic and there is no need of a separate graveyard for them.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the DGHS, came up with the statement in the daily online bulletin on the COVID-19 situation on Wednesday.
"The dead can be buried after wrapping with polythene if a body bag is not available", she said.
"Burial and cremation (of a body) can be held performing own religious rites. If a body bag is not available, the body can be buried at the dedicated or family graveyard after wrapping with a polythene," she said.
She also informed that the World Health Organisation (WHO) had said there is no evidence of risk of infection from dead bodies.
