A total of 118 more people were tested positive for coronavirus in Chattogram after testing 409 samples in the two COVID-19 laboratories in the last 24 hours.
Of the newly detected 118 COVID-19 patients, 91 are the residents of the Chattogram city and the rest 27 are residents of different upazilas of the district.Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS that 95 more new people were tested COVID-19 positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 272 samples in last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 23 people were also identified as corona positive one at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 130 samples, the civil surgeon said.
There is no report of new COVID-19 infection from BITID, Chattogram in last 24 hours, Dr Rabbi added. Besides, no resident of Lohagara upazila was identified as COVID-19 positive after testing seven samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours. With this, the total numbers of COVID-19 patients rose to 2886 only in Chattogram district till Monday.
So far, 76 people died in Chattogram district due to COVID-19 and 227 persons were released from the hospital after recovery, the sources added.
