DMCH nurses barred from entering hotel

More than one hundred nurses of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital who have been fighting on coronavirus pandemic were barred from entering a residential hotel in the capital that was designated for them as the temporary residency.

According to media reports, about 150 nurses were seen waiting on the street outside of Hasan Hotel at Doinik Bangla intersection in Fakirapole area in the capital on Friday evening as the hotel authorities did not allow them to enter inside.

The government arranged temporary residency in the different hotels in the capital for the frontline coronavirus fighters—doctors, nurses, health workers—so that they can keep their family members safe from virus transmission.

The nurses waited outside the hotel for hours as they were barred from entering the hotel on their arrival after completing duty. Later, nurses had to go back to their own houses around 9:00 pm tonight.
