Bangladesh Bank official dies of Covid-19

A Bangladesh Bank official has died from COVID-19 - the first known fatality caused by the new coronavirus among the officials and employees of the central bank of the country.

Ashraf Ali, 60, joint director of the bank, breathed his last at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Regent Hospital in the capital’s Uttara on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment.

Control Room in-charge and PRO of the hospital Tarik Shibli confirmed the news.
