A policeman died with Covid-19 like symptoms at the corona unit of Sher-e Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH) early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Sohel Mahmud, 35, hailing from Pangashia area in Dhumki upazila in Patuakhali.

He was working in the training and welfare branch of Barisal Metropolitan Police.

Nurul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Barishal Kowali Model Police Station, confirmed the matter.

The OC also said that Sohel was admitted at the hospital with breathing and diabetics problems on Wednesday afternoon and he died at 12:15 am while undergoing treatment.
