Ershad’s Pallinibash in Rangpur under lockdown

‘Pallinibash’, the Rangpur residence of late former president and Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Mohammad Ershad, has been placed under lockdown.

The house was placed under lockdown as Ershad’s son Rahgir Almahi Saad Ershad’s bodyguard was diagnosed with coronavirus.

Jatiya Party Presidium Member and Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Mostafizur Rahman Mostofa confirmed the information on Monday.

Saad Ershad, his wife Mahima Saad, APS Afzal and other staff of the house were instructed to stay in home quarantine for 14 days, the Rangpur mayor added.

Dr Hiramba Kumar Roy, Rangpur Civil Surgeon, informed that Shiblu, the bodyguard of Saad Ershad, was tested for coronavirus positive as per the report of the sample test done by the PCR Lab of Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.

The residence has been placed under lockdown following the government instructions. And ban has also been imposed on the entry of the leaders of the Jatiya Party and people concerned to Pallinibash during this period, the civil surgeon added.
