An imam in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj died while conducting Eid Jamaat on Monday morning. He was 70.

He breathed his last while he was in sijda of Eid prayer at Shelachapri Madhyapara Jame Masjid.

The deceased was identified as Ayub Ali, a senior Arabic lecturer of Nandolalpur upazila in the district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman of Shahjadpur confirmed the matter.

The incident cast a gloom over the area on Eid day today (Monday).
